Thermography or raised printing, is a process that raises an offset image by use of heat and resin powders.  Thermography is most often associated with invitations, announcements, and business cards.

This process is the application of a foil image onto a sheet of paper using a brass or magnesium die.  Metallic, dull, holographic and colored foils are all available and can be applied either flat or embossed, which raises the image from the surface.
